MTH presents ‘Nova’: the latest generation of plug-in monoblocks for cold rooms

Available in three sizes and versions for different temperature ranges, it uses natural refrigerant gas with low environmental impact, in full compliance with the F-Gas regulation. The compact design allows installation even on narrow panels, while maintenance is simplified thanks to the new internal layout of the components and the single-sheet casing

For years, MTH has been synonymous with excellence in industrial and commercial refrigeration. With a comprehensive range of products, the company offers solutions that include thermally insulated doors and related components, refrigeration systems and mini cold rooms, and is a key partner for the HO.RE.CA., supermarkets, retail, agribusiness, logistics, vending and medical sectors. Together with Foris Index, the Group operates four production plants in Italy and a widespread commercial network covering over 70 countries worldwide. Index, the Group operates four production plants in Italy and has an extensive sales network covering over 70 countries worldwide. In keeping with this tradition, under the guidance of CEO Luigi Canova and his son Federico, MTH continues to develop new solutions that are increasingly high-performance, efficient and sustainable: at Host 2025, the company will present Nova, the latest evolution in plug-in monoblocks for cold rooms.

The new NOVA monoblock

“Nova represents a generational leap in plug-in refrigeration: available in three sizes and in medium (+10°C / -5°C) and low temperature (-15°C / -25°C) versions, the new monoblock uses natural gas with low environmental impact, in full compliance with F-Gas regulations. The compact design allows installation even on narrow panels, while maintenance is simplified thanks to the new internal layout of the components and the single-sheet casing,” explains Claudio Patta, R&D Manager at MTH.

The new range incorporates hermetic reciprocating compressors, latest-generation electronic motor fans and high-efficiency corrosion-resistant heat exchangers. Among the most significant innovations are the thermostatic valve, which improves climate adaptability, the high-pressure switch and a condensate management system that prevents the passage of humid air between the compartments, reducing ice formation on the evaporator coil. In terms of connectivity, Nova introduces a new controller with an optional Wi-Fi module, which allows users to remotely control and monitor multiple associated devices.

A new factory for the production of Algor: the cold room that has redefined the standard

2025 also saw the inauguration of the new plant in Sant’Antonino di Susa (Turin): a state-of-the-art 3,500 m² facility entirely dedicated to the production of Algor mini cold rooms, a product of the highest quality thanks to the in-house design and production of all construction elements. Composed of modular panels that allow the cold room to be configured according to the customer’s specific requirements, they are available in 4 different thicknesses and are suitable for both positive and negative temperatures down to -25°C. In addition to the standard single-chamber model, the range also includes multi-compartment and stainless-steel versions, ideal for more aggressive environments.

The panels are designed without plastic corner pieces or angles and use an innovative male-female fastening system with eccentric clamping hooks to ensure a perfect seal and quick assembly.

The Algor cold room is equipped with the new semi-recessed door, designed to reduce external dimensions, and with a wide range of accessories.

All-round solutions for the cold chain

Through constant innovation, MTH is the only player in Europe to offer a range of in-house products covering the entire refrigeration supply chain.

The refrigerated door range is now internationally recognised for its sturdiness, reliability and attention to detail, and includes insulated and semi-insulated doors. The former, in hinged and sliding versions, ensure thermal insulation for both positive and negative temperatures down to -45°C. The latter, in the ‘Service Door’ and ‘To & Fro doors’ models, are used in offices, technical rooms or to separate processing areas from transit rooms. The offering is completed by the Foris Index range, a leader in industrial and controlled atmosphere applications for 60 years, and solutions for logistics centres, including high-speed doors, sectional doors and loading bays.

If the door is the heart of every cold room, the components are its lifeblood. MTH has chosen to design and manufacture the main accessories in-house, ensuring not only full compatibility with its doors, but also the possibility of supplying them in kits to customers all over the world. The range includes PVC and aluminium profiles, handles for sliding and swing doors, hinges, gaskets, sliding systems and automation systems.

Finally, thanks to the acquisition of Frigor Afen, since 2007 MTH has been offering a complete range of refrigeration systems, developed with a particular focus on sustainability and energy saving. The company manufactures plug-in monoblocks for tables, cabinets and cold rooms, and condensing units used for display cases, counters, blast chillers and vending machines, also available in a silent version. In order to further reduce energy consumption, the company also uses variable speed compressors and high-efficiency electronic motors. Finally, MTH tests its refrigeration systems in a state-of-the-art climatic chamber, capable of simulating the real environmental conditions in which the machines operate and optimising their performance.

The real added value: specialised assistance from design to installation

MTH’s modus operandi has always been based on joint design with the customer, developing tailor-made technical solutions for individual orders and providing assistance with testing and installation at every stage of the collaboration. The Piedmont-based company also organises dedicated technical and commercial training sessions, both in-house and at customer premises, sharing the experience and know-how gained in over 80 years of activity.

Continuous investment

MTH’s future is being built day by day through a clear investment strategy based on three guidelines. The first concerns production, with a constantly updated fleet of machines: from plastic moulding lines to sheet metal processing plants, the company continues to enhance its industrial capacity to ensure maximum efficiency and quality. At the same time, investments in digital technology are being strengthened, with the development of latest-generation product configurators integrated with artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies for cybersecurity and data protection. Finally, MTH continues to invest in its people: training, professional growth and talent development are the basis for meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing market. ‘Continuing to invest, even at a time of great uncertainty such as this, is key to meeting the challenges of the global market and remaining a benchmark in our sector,’ says Federico Canova. ‘Our strategy aims to strengthen our ability to develop new products, modernise our production lines, enhance our talents and adopt new digital solutions, always keeping the customer as our guiding star: this is how we are building the future of MTH.’
