Organized by Easyfairs Italia, the 2026 edition of SOLIDS — a key event for the process manufacturing industry and part of the European network of bulk handling trade shows (Solids European Series) — will take place on February 11–12 at the Fiere di Parma exhibition center. In Italy, it remains the only event entirely dedicated to technologies for handling solid materials such as powders, granules, and bulk solids.

The figures from the most recent 2024 edition show strong growth compared to the debut edition in 2023:

  • 1,702 professional visitors (+34%)

  • 143 exhibitors (+17%)

  • 90% of exhibition space already reconfirmed, eight months ahead of the event

Starting in 2026, SOLIDS Parma will become a biennial event—a strategic decision aimed at ensuring increasingly relevant and practical content aligned with the real needs of both visitors and exhibitors, while avoiding scheduling conflicts and redundancies.

CONTENT

The next edition of SOLIDS will feature a conference and training program focused on highly relevant topics for the sector—subjects that are often overlooked at traditional trade fairs.

For example, there will be a regulatory and legal focus on F.C.M.s (Food Contact Materials), especially for seals and components, including deep dives into paper, glass, recycled plastic, metals, and the latest European regulations (EU Reg. 351/2025 and 2025/40).

Other topics will include powder and granular material flowability, with practical guidance on proper characterization and classification (e.g., angle of repose, density, shear testing). The event will demonstrate how to determine and apply the Flow Function, including a hands-on example of hopper sizing. Attendees will also gain insights into methods, tests, and data interpretation for optimizing industrial processes.

The program will include two roundtables on textile and plastic recycling.

WHAT’S NEW

Among the novelties for SOLIDS 2026 is the Innovation Gallery, showcasing—both physically and digitally—the 10 most innovative technologies selected from among those exhibited at the show.

Ahead of the official announcement, visitors will have the chance to explore a wide array of solutions for the handling, processing, and transport of bulk and powdered materials: pneumatic and mechanical conveying, dosing and mixing, filtration and dust collection, screening, weighing, packaging, process sensors, automation, and technologies for safety and sustainability. Visitors will vote for the best innovation directly at the fair.

Another first is the launch of the SOLIDS Parma Podcast, online from September 2025: a series of episodes dedicated to the world of powders, granules, and bulk materials, designed for professionals in the food, chemical, plastics, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, mining, and manufacturing industries.

Each episode will explore real-world cases, common challenges, and cutting-edge technological solutions—such as nanofiber filters to reduce energy consumption and extend equipment lifespan, or effective strategies for explosion protection against combustible dusts. A great opportunity to stay informed, share insights, and remain connected with the technical community beyond the exhibition itself.

TARGET AUDIENCE

SOLIDS Parma targets a qualified and cross-sector audience from key industries including food (including pet food), chemical-pharmaceutical, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, metallurgy, agriculture, plastics and rubber, and recycling.

As tradition goes, the event attracts high-level decision-makers: CEOs, technical directors, buyers, production managers, engineers, and technical specialists.
