From 17 to 20 November 2026, Simei returns to Fiera Milano with a new ally. Alongside the 31st edition of the Unione Italiana Vini (Uiv) exhibition dedicated to technology for oenology and bottling, the debut of Bevertech will take place: a new trade fair positioning itself as the only event in Italy entirely dedicated to technological solutions for the production, packaging and distribution of Liquid Food & Beverage. These are sectors expected to grow both in terms of consumption and innovation, with packaging technologies alone forecast to reach a value of 17 billion euros by 2028.
Born from the strategic synergy between Simei and IPACK-IMA, the leading trade show for packaging, processing and materials, Bevertech aims to intercept a still-uncovered niche by offering concrete answers to the innovation, efficiency and sustainability needs of companies in the sector.
“Bevertech aims to break down boundaries between sectors,” comments Valerio Soli, President of IPACK-IMA. “It promotes positive cross-contamination among related industries, from liquid processing technologies to automation, from smart packaging to traceability, all the way to digital and sustainable solutions that are reshaping the supply chain. Not by chance, we chose the claim ‘Liquid innovation. Solid solutions’. This is an event designed for companies in the Liquid Food & Beverage sector, buyers, food technologists, distributors and operators,” he concludes, “a highly qualified audience selected through targeted recruitment activities that leverage the consolidated databases of Simei and IPACK-IMA.”
“In a complex and articulated market context, more and more companies are betting on diversification of their offering made possible by the growing cross-sector nature of technologies,” underlines Paolo Castelletti, CEO of Unione Italiana Vini Servizi. “The complementarity with Simei therefore represents an essential added value: the simultaneous presence of the two events creates a unique ecosystem, in which consolidated expertise in wine production and bottling intertwines with innovations and solutions from other sectors, thus generating new opportunities for networking and business development. This is a new proposal, which opens the way to unprecedented perspectives and further growth opportunities for our companies.”
According to data from the IPACK-IMA Monitor, the Liquid Food & Beverage sector is recording interesting growth rates in production—supported in particular by global Liquid Food consumption, forecast to grow by an average of 2.8% per year between 2025 and 2028—as well as on the technological front. While packaging materials for these products are expected to register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2025–2028) of +4.2% through 2028, packaging technologies for beverages are forecast to grow at a CAGR (2024–2028) of +4%, which should bring the market value to 16.9 billion euros in the next three years (up from 13.9 billion in 2023).
